In Joe Rogan Experience Episode #2509, aired June 4, 2026, financial content creator Caleb Hammer made a blunt case about generational wealth and missed opportunity. "I'm starting to not have sympathy for the boomers," Hammer told Rogan. "Best job market ever. Best stock market in the history of the world." Hammer's argument: baby boomers and Gen X had every structural advantage affordable housing, cheap college tuition, stable employment, and a multi-decade bull market and many still failed to set aside even 5% to 10% of their income each month. Rogan ran a hypothetical on the show: if someone was 25 years old in 1990, earned the average U.S. salary of approximately $21,000 a figure consistent with Social Security Administration wage data showing the national average wage at $21,027 in 1990 and invested 10% monthly into the S&P 500 for 40 years, how much would they have today? The estimate came back at $2 million to $5 million depending on salary growth assumptions. Even under a flat-salary scenario with no raises, investing 10% of $21,000 annually at a 10% average return would compound to approximately $930,000 close to a million dollars. Hammer's broader point centers on compound investing and the cost of choosing lifestyle spending over long-term wealth building. Social Security's trust fund is projected to be depleted by 2033, at which point the SSA's own trustees report estimates benefits would be cut by approximately 23% unless Congress acts. For those without investment savings, that cut could be severe. #JoeRogan #CalebHammer #PersonalFinance 🌐 Find more market-moving insights at https://www.benzinga.com — your one-stop destination for the latest financial news, data, and expert analysis to stay ahead of the markets. 🖥️ Want the same tools the pros use—without the $10K Bloomberg terminal?
