Capital One’s $425M Payout

A judge has signed off on a $425 million deal tied to claims that Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF) kept some customers in lower-interest savings accounts while higher-yield options were available. The case centers around the bank’s 360 Savings account and the introduction of its 360 Performance Savings product in 2019. Capital One has denied wrongdoing, but the settlement allows eligible customers to receive compensation based on the difference in interest they could have earned. Customers who held a 360 Savings account between September 18, 2019, and June 16, 2025 may qualify for a payout. Most eligible individuals will receive payments automatically without needing to file a claim.
